How to use this tool
- Choose a supported image.
- Click or tap a pixel, or enter X and Y coordinates. Choose a sample size for an average.
- Sample the color, then copy its values or check contrast with a proposed background.
How it works
X and Y start at zero in the top-left corner. The square sample extends right and down from that coordinate. Channels are arithmetically averaged across the selected pixels, including alpha. Values represent the browser’s decoded sRGB image and can vary with color-profile handling.

Important considerations
A sampled pixel is not necessarily a brand’s official color. Anti-aliased edges and JPEG artifacts may differ from the intended swatch. Transparent pixels also need a background before contrast testing.
